OK, so I have my semester exams going on but I'm an addict who can't live without reading a novels...It's scary...Well keeping that aside, I want to talk about the recent book that I read a week ago "The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window" by Kirsty Moseley
If you want to read cheesy YA romance with less drama, then sweetheart this is your book!
*Spoiler Alert*
Amber(FL) has an abusive father. When she is 8 years old her father gets pretty angry on her, she ends up in her room sobbing and to console her Liam(ML) sneaks up her window and sleeps with her.
Now, 8 years later they still share the bed. One fine day he confesses that he has been in love with her since they were kids and they start dating.
This is where the interesting part comes.. Unlike all romance novels where the guy and the girl love each other since childhood and then they fall prey to some misunderstandings and mistrust, in this book the author highlighted the trust between them and guess what? No stupid misunderstandings.. It was quite refreshing.
It had a smooth flow with not much twists and turns. It was really entertaining and cute.. After reading romance novels with a sad history for every freaking character which ultimately leads to breaking up of the two due to their pasts, this book was something new. Even though there were obstacles they didn't break up but loved each other more and more everyday.
It is a really cheesy romance novel with a lot of cheesy-ness on the guys part. I swear I fell in love with Liam! If I had to read two more pages of their saccharin-sweet romance, i would have ended up with diabetes..
That doesn't mean there wasn't drama in it.. Her father remarries and Jake(older brother) and Amber have two stepbrothers. But that asshole of a man still abuses all his kids so that's annoying and frustrating. But what impressed me is, in this book the stepbrother is really sweet and protective; unlike in some books I've read, where the stepbrother tries to abuse the girl. (it was what I expected to happen so when it didn't, i was surprised and it was such a relief!)
As I said it is a smooth story without any unnecessary ups and downs. And I lovvvved it.
"Trust and love can help you get through any pain that you've faced or you're going to face in future" and "don't be quick to judge anyone before getting to know them". These two lines are what I derived from the novel and I think it's pretty good!
P.S. I'd like to say that don't judge a book by it's cover and not by review as well, because my perception and views will be very different from yours. It is not necessary that you like what I like and dislike what I dislike.
So read the book before you judge it! (^.^)
